Spring arrived late this year and we felt lucky to have escaped to Cape Town from a long dark winter. As usual, it was a working holiday for John but amongst good friends in sparkling sunlight it was easy going. Although with still more snow and gloom to come, it took a while to get motivated on our return. However, exhibition dates rolled in and the brushes were soon hot again. 2009 was a busy year with John finding his time fully occupied by the demands of four or five galleries with extra exhibitions; also, a regular flow of privately commissioned work, which is always welcome. Plus, of course, some time for golf! November saw John making a flying visit to Dubai for the 20th anniversary of The Majlis Gallery where he and several other founder artists had been invited to produce paintings for print. The Majlis has only ever dealt with originals previously so, a sign of the times it seems. However, the exhibition and inevitable parties generated much enthusiasm and Im pleased to say, sales of originals too. Meantime, invitations were out for our popular Annual Inkberrow Exhibition, a mixed show of village views, wildlife studies and landscapes near and far. It attracted an equally mixed crowd and we are delighted to welcome more each year. There follows our year-plan, which may be updated from time to time. A regularly updated collection of Johns work can always be found at the listed galleries. Also at: Fine Art UK, 36 The Homend, Ledbury; and at The Glass House, Arden Industrial Estate, Alcester and at Martins Gallery. Montpelier Parade, Cheltenham. You are welcome to view ongoing work at our Worcestershire home, see contacts below. Please ring or e-mail if you need further info. With best wishes, Stella Harris
